Privacy Policy
At Yard & Coop, we take data protection seriously. We understand that your privacy is important to you and that’s why we make sure that any data collected is handled safely and securely.
In this privacy policy, we’ve provided some easy-to-digest information about when and why we collect your personal data, how we use it, and how we keep it safe.
Cookies
You may already know about cookies, but they essentially record where you have previously visited on the Internet and store that information for your convenience. For example, have you ever added something to your basket, left the website and came back days later to find it still in there? Well, that’s because of cookies.
Of course, some people are not comfortable with the idea of their movements being “tracked” whilst they are surfing the web, but we are up front about the fact that our website uses cookies. Some cookies are strictly necessary to the functioning of a website and are therefore non-optional. However, we also use cookies for optimised performance and functionality that you can opt out of when you first visit our website.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect basic data about our visitors and their behavioural patterns whilst browsing our site. Examples of this include volume of traffic, time spent on website, operating system, network location and IP address.
However, this information is gathered in such a way that your identity remains anonymous. Neither Yard & Coop nor Google Analytics attempt to learn the identities of anyone visiting our website.
Free WiFi
We use a third-party service called Fusion WiFi to provide free internet access in our restaurants. The data we collect through the provider will only be used to send marketing correspondence if the user has provided express consent for us to do so.
The data that we collect may include:
- Name and email address
- Date of birth (if provided)
- Gender (if provided)
- Application that you used to log in (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
- Access time, frequency and location
Click here to read Fusion WiFi’s privacy policy as the data processor.
Email Marketing
We collect customers’ email addresses as part of our email marketing communications. We use this data to send out weekly emails with upcoming events and offers.
This is all done through a third-party provider, MailChimp, who have their own practices with regards to data protection, which you can view by clicking here. MailChimp also collects data that monitors open rates and click-through rates. However, this is all done anonymously, meaning we are not able to see exactly which recipients are opening our emails.
You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of our emails. By unsubscribing, all of your data will be removed from our systems.
Restaurant Bookings
When you book a table at our restaurant online, we collect your data for two reasons:
- To contact you if we need to discuss your booking
- To send you our marketing campaigns
However, we will only contact you for the latter reason if we receive express permission from you to do so.
This data is collected by either Design My Night, Quandoo or OpenTable, depending on which service you use to make your booking. They are responsible processing your data and you can read their policies regarding this by clicking the following links (Design My Night, Quandoo, OpenTable).
The type of data collected includes:
- Name and email address
- Phone number
- Booking type
- Booking location
You are fully entitled to view, change, or permanently delete your personal information from our records. Email your request to Carl at carl@yardandcoop.com
