Deep Fried Magnum

We deep-fried something again. Introducing the Deep-Fried Magnum Ice Cream PORN FLAKE.

After the success (and yumminess) of the deep fried egg, we thought what could we deep-fry this bank holiday that people would love. Lets be honest, British bank holiday weather is notoriously rubbish, so we decided to create something that can be devoured come rain or shine.

Since our crème egg, we’ve been playing with our food a bit more (Sorry mum!). We have been deep frying different treats, and tested deep fried ice cream. Its great – but in classic Yard & Coop style we wanted to take it to the next level!

This time, we’re working with Magnum, the king of ice creams (and our all time favourite) to create a delicious, gooey hot and cold delight. We mixed cornflakes with cinnamon and honey for a tasty, crunchy coating and deep fried the ice cream for 15 seconds. The result? A crunchy, sweet coating, with warm melted chocolate. And the ice cream centre? Still cold!

We have a choice of Classic Magnum or White Magnum, and its flavor explosion and orgasmic taste means it can have only one name: The Pornflake Magnum. Available 3rd-7th May – get it whilst its hot (and cold).

Crack Pie

‘“Oh my god, this pie is so good it’s like crack” – And that’s how it got its name Crack Pie.’ – Christina Tosi

If you’ve heard of or been to Momofukus Milk Bar, you will undoubtedly know of crack pie, a sugary sweet dessert so addictive it will leave you wanting more. Originally created with leftover ingredients for the staff to eat, Christina Tosi, a New York chef and owner of Milk Bar didn’t think it would be anything to shout about. She based it on a recipe of Chess Pie, a dessert characteristic of the Southern States. Its gooey sticky centre and crumb base was so delicious it ended up being put on the menu at Momofukus. It is now a well-known dessert loved worldwide.

Being avid lovers of crack pie ourselves, we wanted it on our menu for our customers to enjoy. We asked Nicky of LushBrownies to bake it alongside our already indulgent brownies. We all had to try it first so admittedly the first batch went pretty quickly! Now it’s a staple on our dessert menu. We serve with clotted cream and caramel sauce. It’s a perfect sweet fix, after your fried chicken deliciousness. You don’t need to fly 8 hours to get amazing crack pie anymore, pop in and grab one today. Life is too short to skip dessert.

N.B. Our Crack Pie contains no crack, just butter, cream and a shit load of sugar.
