As you know here at Yard & Coop, we’re all about bringing you the best product with the biggest smile. As we enter 2020, we carry on supporting those who want to eat better meat but also look to champion those who want less.

That’s right, the home of buttermilk fried chicken is celebrating Veganuary 2020 with the launch of 3 sensational specials… Let the plant times role.

Not ones to compromise on quality, we’ve worked carefully to pick a plant-based alternative to satisfy meat-eaters and vegans alike. We will be serving up credible and authentic vegan fried chicken coated in our secret recipe crumb then deep fried to golden perfection; it’s a little bit Yard & Plant magic.

What to expect?

Devour your vegan fried chicken feast with skin on fries or salad, a pickle and sweetcorn relish and your choice of sauce.

Or why not take on the rebellion and tackle a Greta Thun-burger? A vegan fried chicken burger stacked with not so chicken tot patty, hash brown, vegan cheese, rainbow slaw and lime salsa. Smothered in garlic mayo and siracha sauces and served with skin on fries.

Like it hot, quick and cheap? Grab our Gard ‘N Coop fries lunch special to dine in or takeaway Monday – Friday between 12-5pm.

As a chicken shop we know we’re not changing the world, but we hope this is just the veganning of doing our bit.

Drink it to the left if you’re having a good time. Beefeater blood orange gin with cranberry, apple and orange juices, orange peel, cloves and star anise. Stewed and stirred to festive perfection and finished with flamed cinnamon and dehydrated apple.

Before anyone else. Beefeater gin, Plymouth sloe gin and Franklin’s rhubarb tonic built with freshly squeezed lime and raspberry jam. Topped with cherries, a rosemary sprig and finished with a sugar bae dusting.

Santa would approve. Cranberry juice, vanilla syrup and lime juice topped with ginger beer. Garnished with strawberries and a rosemary sprig then finished with gold spray to make it proper posh.

Winter has come and we decided it was time to brighten things up with a bangin’ new food menu. Expect a classic Coop twist on a number of dirty dishes and the smothered and saucy to be taken to a whole new level.

CHINESE TAKEAWAY BURGER
Get that Saturday night takeaway feeling everyday with our Chinese Takeaway burger. Devour salt & pepper chicken along with pulled chicken in Chinese chip shop curry sauce, crispy seaweed, onion, chilli, peppers and iceberg lettuce. Topped with a deep-fried wonton and served with a fortune cookie.

THE LONE STAR
We went deep, south and dirty for this one to make a burger the ‘Deep South’ would be proud of. Buttermilk fried chicken breast and thigh with mac and cheese, maple bacon, crispy onions, BBQ pulled chicken, American cheese, sweet potato fries and lime salsa all in a brioche bun. Topped with a Dr Pepper BBQ wing.

DIRTY KATSU
You know we love a Dirty Bird so we’ve decided to double up and double dip our Chinese chip shop curry sauce with homemade creamy ranch to create the Dirty Katsu. Expect the loaded bowl of fries we’ve all come to love served with buttermilk fried chicken Ma’ Clucker would be proud of.

FETA & HONEY KEBAB
This one’s for the veggies. You loved our Feta & honey salad, so we’ve taken it to the large plates. Fried feta drizzled in honey and sesame seeds with rainbow root slaw and fresh coriander on a warm naan bread. Served with minty buttermilk sour cream and our kebab sauce.

MACCIE’S BREKKIE
You ain’t seen muffin yet. That’s right, never worry about missing breakfast again because we’ve created the ultimate meaty muffin stack packed with two buttermilk fried chicken thighs, sausage meat patty, crispy bacon, American cheese, fried egg and hash browns and served with loaded tatties. It’s breakfast done proper, and all day.

MASSIVE COCK MK V
And finally, it wouldn’t be a new menu without a bigger, better Massive Cock burger. That’s right, over 12 inches tall you definitely need to get your hands round this! A double stacked burger with buttermilk fried chicken breast, chicken thigh, Yorkshire puddings, lashings of cheese sauce and chicken gravy. Piled with pea and onion fritter, chicken tots, bacon jam, hash brown and mac and cheese. All in a brioche bun topped with stuffing balls and served with fries and sweet potato fries.

If this isn’t enough for you, you’ll find some of our best hot sides yet begging to join your table including Chicken Tots, Pea Fritters with hot brown sauce and Carrots & Snips served with a homemade rosemary infused honey.

Not ones to miss a party, you’ll find us frolicking on Albert Square and serving up the best buttermilk fried chicken in Manchester. You can catch us there for the whole of the markets run, from Friday 8th – Sunday 22nd December.

Our legendary Chick In Cones will be making a triumphant return alongside an array of saucy buttermilk fried chicken trays and house favourite Buff Daddy burger. Expect us to be loaded, smothered ‘n downright dirty.

Vegans just wanna have fun, right? Tis’ the season of meat free alternatives and we’ll be smashing out vegan pulled chicken drenched in everybody’s favourite Dr Pepper BBQ so that one and all can eat and be merry with Yard & Coop this Christmas.
